Bangladesh Muslim Funeral (BMF) Services in Western Australia

Bangladesh Muslim Funeral Services Australia, WA (BMF) is a non-profit organisation, registered on 28th August 2025, to assist with funeral and burial services for Muslims in Western Australia in full accordance with Islamic Shariah (Qur'an, Sunnah, and Fiqh).

The passing of a loved one is one of the most difficult moments in life, and during such times families should be free to grieve, reflect, and pray rather than worry about financial or logistical burdens. Bangladesh Muslim Funeral (BMF) Services in Western Australia has been established with this vision in mind – to support our community with dignity, compassion, and Islamic guidance during their time of loss.

BMF is a non-profit community initiative dedicated to easing the burdens of funeral arrangements for Bangladeshi and wider Muslim families in Western Australia. Our services include financial assistance, coordination of religious rites, and emotional support for bereaved families. We believe that it is our collective duty as Muslims to ensure that every brother and sister receives a proper Islamic burial, and that no family is left struggling alone in their time of grief.

In Islam, the funeral process is a sacred responsibility. Allah reminds us: “Every soul will taste death. And you will only receive your full reward on the Day of Judgment. Whoever is spared from the Fire and is admitted into Paradise will indeed triumph, whereas the life of this world is no more than the delusion of enjoyment.” (Quran 3:185). With this reminder, BMF strives to uphold the final rites of our departed loved ones with respect, care, and adherence to Islamic principles.

Our vision is to build a strong support network within the Bangladeshi and Muslim community in Western Australia. We are committed to standing beside families during their most critical moments, helping to ease financial pressures, guiding them through religious obligations, and offering compassion and solidarity. In the future, BMF also hopes to expand its services to ensure that all Muslims in Western Australia have access to proper Islamic funeral arrangements.

BMF's mission is to uphold the dignity of Islamic burials while standing beside the grieving families by relieving funeral-related stress and financial burden and enabling them to focus on spiritual reflection and emotional healing. As a community-based mutual support model, BMF manages all funds with trust (Amānah) and transparency, prioritising assistance for vulnerable and financially disadvantaged families, thereby strengthening community solidarity in times of hardship.

Sources of Funding

BMF functions strictly as a non-profit organisation — not as an insurance scheme or commercial enterprise.

• Member Contributions: A one-time registration only. There are no ongoing monthly or yearly charges for members or their dependents
• Voluntary Contributions: Members and supporters may offer voluntary donations. To maintain sufficient funds for funeral expenses, members may occasionally be invited to contribute small amounts.
• Community Donations: Open voluntary contributions from the wider Muslim community.
• Large Donations / Waqf: Accepted only after full verification of Shariah compliance.
• Excess Funds: Reserved for future funeral needs or invested in Shariah-compliant avenues (no interest, gambling, or prohibited activities).

BMF is a community trust (Amanah) dedicated to upholding the rights of the deceased, supporting families, and fostering unity through mutual support (taʿāwun). BMF sustains through member contributions, donations, and community Ṣadaqah. BMF operates transparently in full compliance with Islamic Shariah and Australian law. In special circumstances, management may review policies and adjust services; service delivery may be limited in large-scale emergencies (e.g., natural disasters).
