Why Do We Need Bangladesh Muslim Funeral Service?
Living overseas means we are far from many of the comforts and support systems we enjoyed back home. One of the most significant losses is the community-based support that naturally exists in our villages and neighbourhoods. When someone passes away back home, the local community immediately comes together to help with funeral arrangements and burial, providing immense comfort to the bereaved family during their most difficult time.
Unfortunately, we don't have that same level of community support readily available here. The BMF initiative aims to fill this gap by providing comprehensive support and comfort to families during their time of greatest need. Insha'Allah, BMF will provide full financial support for burial expenses, ensuring that no family faces this burden alone.
Why should I become a member?
By becoming a member, you are not only securing support for yourself and your loved ones, but you are also extending a helping hand to other families during their most challenging moments. BMF is a family built on the principles of mutual support and compassion. When you join, you become part of this larger family, standing together with fellow members and volunteers to serve one another. May Allah (SWT) reward you abundantly for this act of solidarity and service to the community.
Who can become a member?
Any muslim family or adult can become a member by paying the one-off membership contribution.
How can I become a member?
Becoming a member is simple. Please visit https://bmf.org.au/home/membership to register your details and contribute the recommended membership amount. You contribute only once at the time of joining — there are no ongoing contributions or annual contributions. Please refer to the website for the recommended contribution for each membership type.
Can I cancel my membership?
Membership contributions are non-refundable. You can cancel your membership at any time by contacting us.
How does the membership work?
The membership contribution is a one-time contribution with no ongoing contributions. You may include your children for an additional $15 each. A new individual membership will be required once your child turns 25 years old.
How can I pay the membership contribution?
You can transfer the recommended membership contribution to the BMF bank account.
How can I reset my password?
You can reset your password from the login screen. Use the forgot password feature to reset your password.
How can I enable Two-Factor authentication?
It is highly recommended to enable 2FA to secure your account and data. Once your registration is complete and approved, you can enable 2FA by clicking on the Enable Two-Factor Authentication link from the top navigation menu.
How can I add family members?
You can add family members on the website by logging in to your account. The additional recommended contribution will be automatically added as you add members. You can also include parents and visitors in the membership area.
What should I do if a family member dies at home?
You need to contact us immediately so that our team can guide you and help you with the process.
How does BMF manage the funds for funerals?
Since we do not collect ongoing membership contributions, the initial funds will naturally decrease as we provide funeral services. When the fund falls below a certain threshold, we will reach out to our members for voluntary contributions to replenish it. This ensures that we always maintain sufficient funds to cover the costs of funeral services for our community members. This shared responsibility model allows us to support each other when it matters most.
